TECH NATION

“Tech Nation” is a technology magazine show that depicts the process of using scientific knowledge for practical purposes; creating tech-related products and services (gadgets and services that you use in your daily life) to meet consumer or business needs and improve the livelihoods of people.

“Tech Nation” uses the power of the media to find and interview young people who are involved in tech-related activities in their communities. We want to hear their invention stories and share them with the rest of the world.

The show features stakeholders, innovators, systems, and projects enabling an environment that together empower people and communities to use digital technology to access services, engage with each other, or pursue economic opportunities

Her Tech Space is a project under Novus Innovation Initiative Ltd designed to inspire young STEM women in their early and mid-careers in Uganda and the world at large. Her Tech Space connects and strengthens women in STEM bringing together technological women and men in industry and those in the collegiate world to have open and honest conversations about career paths, entrepreneurship, innovations and professional aspirations.

Our mission is to provide a safe space for meaningful conversations and to empower young men and women to become innovators, techpreneurs or career-oriented personnel who are motivated by a value-based culture of continuous striving to Learn, Lead, mentor, and Lift others by reaching out to the next generation of tech workers.

Male allies are appreciated, valued, and needed to ensure the success of Her Tech Space objectives and the advancement of gender equality in workplaces. Hence, we partner with them to ensure that we have as many women as possible in tech spaces.

Resilient Research

We conduct scientific research that is essential for decision-making and addressing the world’s most pressing development challenges, which in turn deepens our understanding of complex challenges and leads to innovative solutions.

Digital Skills Training

In rural areas, limited access to and use of digital technologies is accompanied by a lack of digital skills among various social groups (e.g., youths and marginalized groups) and in businesses. This includes fundamental digital skills and competencies that enable individuals to interact online and consume digital goods and services, as well as advanced skills that enable the workforce to leverage technologies for increased productivity and economic growth.

Digital literacy and awareness of the opportunities that digitalisation provides is a key driver for new business models, applications, and services that are required to develop and contribute to Uganda’s and Africa’s social cohesion and economic prosperity.

Novus Innovation Initiative has placed a stronger emphasis on promoting ICT generic skills, ICT specialist skills, and ICT-complementary skills, including foundational skills, digital literacy, higher-order critical thinking skills, and social and emotional skills, to ensure that everyone can participate in and benefit from the digital economy and adapt quickly to new and unexpected occupations and skill needs. Greater efforts are also required to help adults with low literacy, numeracy, and digital skills participate fully in the digital economy and society.
